It starts the day after Thanksgiving, when all those insane shoppers go full-tilt zombie, thanks to some goo right out of The Stuff. The ending gets a little too Ghostbusters, but it’s a solid piece of comedy horror.
Raimi & Campbell’s Evil Dead 2 is a wild ride that not only made its mark on zombie-entertainment history but is good enough to warrant repeat viewing. An Essential!
It’s not the near-perfect zompoc of Boyle’s 28 Days Later, but the action is great, the jump scares are well-earned, and, like the first film, it’s got a great cast. Not essential, but a solid sequel.
Even big-time zombie movie fans may have missed this one. Is it a comedy? A satire? A skewed love story? All that and more, and one of the least expected and most watchable of the “dark comedies” to come out of the genre.

Best-selling author Daniel Kraus completed George A. Romero’s excellent but unfinished story set in the Night of the Living Dead world. Not an adaptation or ‘novelization;’ an entirely new tale,of the zombie plague as George A. Romero wanted to tell it.
It was a typical date night…until the crazy raggedy man staggered out of an alley, groaning and hissing, and bit my boyfriend in the arm. Jeremy started to get sick before the Uber got us home.
Then he started to eat-anything, everything in sight. Then he turned on me.
Witness one woman’s horrifying story of flesh-eaters in the real world…and what happened after she was bitten herself.
The first novella from the Gift Guide’s own supremely talented Product Goddess… and just the beginning!

These HAPTIME action figures, each about 3.75 inches tall, are celebrations of the Romero tradition in 3-D. Plastic decorated with non-toxic paint, they give us zomberiffic interpretations of a businessman, a jogger, a girl in her dancin’ best, and more.

The Amazon title for this infantile gem says it all: “Animated Crawling Creepy Doll Baby Zombie Ugly Haunted Ghost Baby.” About 31 1/2 inches long by 14″ wide; it uses a trio of AA batteries, and this animated zombie baby” abruptly scares people into screaming.” Hey, what’s not to like?
We would have played with these for weeks. In fact, we may go out and buy some regular toy soldiers just so we can play with these for weeks. And best of all: They glow in the dark. Come on, man! You even get zombie pets and gravestones and a few despicable humans to munch. Fourteen unique designs in all; a total of 100 figures.
If you or a kindred spirit are true zomfans, what could be more fun than this walkin’ dead version of the classic trio? Four inches tall, 8 inches long, 3 1/2 inches deep and 6 inches high, From Pacific Glassware.

A zombie musical that’s remarkably charming in its own quirky way, complete with a musical comedy small town, insufferably cute high school kids who constantly burst into song… and a swarm of flesh-eating corpses that won’t stay dead. Try it. You just might like it.
The first, the original, the centerpiece of any collection. Also, believe it or not, worth going back to watch regularly, just to see where it all started. The Blu-Ray includes dailies, new interviews and documentaries and audio commentaries.
There’s no reason this should be so funny, engaging, and even exciting, but it is. There’s a mad exuberance about old folks blasting away at the undead while the hapless younger generation can barely keep up. A truly underrated cult classic.

The only zombie apocalypse movie we know set inside the First Nations — specifically in the devastated Mi’kmaq reservation that survives because Native Americans seem to be immune to the zombie virus. An overlooked but damn good — and very grim — film.

A bloody good zombie action pic from Australia and the warmed mind of Lucky McKee (The Woman, May, etc.). Far from flawless but a lot of fun… and not what you’d expect from your normal zombie flick!

The first (and many say best) of the “fast zombie” and “viral zombie” subgenre, that still holds up twenty years after Danny Boyle made it. Fast, smart, harrowing, and a game-changer.
